City of HCM (VNS/VNA) – Culture, lifestyle and fashion ties between Vietnam and Europe will be promoted under a memorandum of understanding signed this week by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham Vietnam) and the
Aquafina Vietnam International Week (VIFW).

The signature was an opportunity for EuroCham and its affiliated national chambers to support the development of European companies both regionally and in Vietnam, and to help Vietnamese companiesinterested in expanding their European market.

It will also identify and promote the benefits of EVFTA for both groups.

It will also help Vietnamese fashion and culture open up to the world and create more business opportunities for Vietnamese fashion designers and brands in the near future.

Alain Cany, President of EuroCham Vietnam, said many European fashion brands are famous around the world, so EuroCham would be an ideal partner for VIFW to connect and bring European companies to Vietnam for mutual development and lasting relationship.

Le Thi Quynh Trang, president of VIFW and chairman of the ASEAN Fashion Designers Council, said earlier this week that the signing was not only a huge opportunity for the fashion industry in Vietnam, but also a new development path for local and international companies.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Deputy Secretary General of the VietnamTextile and Apparel Association (VITAS), said it also believes the MoU will promote the sustainable development of Vietnam’s fashion and textile industries.

In a related development, Prodotti Alfa, an Italian company producing regenerated leather and an ideal eco-friendly material for fashion, bookbinding, furniture and other industries, presented its products at a seminar on Sustainable Materials in Fashion held in HCM City on May 25.

The seminar, organized by Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam and VIFW, was a side event of Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2022 which is taking place in the city until May 29./.
